Tunkhannock Fire Food Truck and Ice Cream Fundraiser

Two local organizations joined forces on Friday afternoon to raise funds. The Fire and Ice Fundraiser, held on that day, was sponsored for the first time by Firehouse Subs, who contributed a portion of their sales to support the Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Association and the Tunkhannock Fire Department.

The event also featured an ice cream sale from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., which one volunteer EMS mentioned would be a significant help.

"During this time of year, everything is financially tight, and we're not exempt from it," stated Matthew Vanardsdalen, a volunteer EMS at Tunkhannock Community Ambulance. In addition to needing financial support, they are also in need of more volunteers.

While the Fire and Ice Fundraiser will assist with their financial needs, they are actively seeking additional volunteers. According to Vanardsdalen, having more volunteers will not only help cover expenses but also decrease response times, ultimately saving more lives.

"With more people on board, we can respond faster to those in need," Vanardsdalen emphasized.
